Product Description
Calcium Hydroxide 93%+ Grade, High Graded Calcium Hydroxide
"High Graded Calcium Hydroxide", having CAS-No: 1305-62-0, and traditionally being called hydrated lime or slaked lime, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula as Ca(OH)2. It is free flowing super fine super white powder, free from grits & other contaminations and is obtained when calcium oxide (quicklime) is "slaked" with water, to form "Hydrated Lime". Calcium Hydroxide is used in a wide variety of traditional & emerging applications, because of its chemical & physical properties. These are high quality optimum products, compliant to various compendiums, being diligently processed under good manufacturing practices. These products are free from all known allergens and do not contain any prohibitory or toxic chemicals or non-kosher ingredients. The usual shelf life of the product is three to six months from the date of manufacturing of batch. This grade of Calcium Hydroxide shall be having minimum Assay Content of 93%+ as Ca(OH)2.

FAQs of Calcium Hydroxide (High Graded):
Q: How should Calcium Hydroxide (High Graded) be stored to maintain its quality?
A: Calcium Hydroxide should be kept in tightly sealed containers, placed away from moisture and acids. Proper storage under these conditions will preserve its effectiveness and ensure a shelf life of up to 12 months.
Q: What are the main industrial and laboratory uses for this product?
A: This compound is widely used for regulating pH in water treatment processes, as an ingredient in construction materials, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemical synthesis, and laboratory experiments. Its high alkalinity is particularly beneficial in neutralizing acidic solutions and impurities.
Q: When is Calcium Hydroxide preferred over other alkaline compounds?
A: Calcium Hydroxide is often favored for its high purity, controlled particle size, and strong alkalinity, making it particularly useful in processes demanding precise pH regulation, food-grade safety, or minimal contamination from heavy metals and other impurities.
Q: Where can this high-graded Calcium Hydroxide be applied in the food industry?
A: It is utilized in food processing as a pH regulator, dough conditioner, or clarification agent in beverages, and for fortifying food products with calcium. Its compliance with food grade standards ensures suitability for such applications.
Q: What is the process for preparing a 10% Calcium Hydroxide solution, and what pH can be expected?
A: To prepare a 10% solution, dissolve 10 grams of Calcium Hydroxide in 90 mL of distilled water. This will yield a highly alkaline solution with a pH between 12.0 and 12.4, ideal for various industrial and laboratory applications.
Q: How does using this ultra fine powder benefit construction and treatment processes?
A: The ultra fine particle size offers greater reactivity, faster dissolution, and more uniform dispersionensuring enhanced efficiency in applications like soil stabilization, water softening, and as a component in construction mixtures.
